Muddiman

Ashley Muddiman (Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin) is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Kansas. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, she's lived in Texas, North Carolina, Wyoming, and now Kansas. She loves books, art, and traveling, and is a huge fan of college basketball.

Broadly, her research focuses on the effects of political media, including both mass media and digital news. She is interested, more specifically, in political incivility in the news. In addition to her appointment at KU, she is a Faculty Research Associate with the Engaging News Project - a research team dedicated to using research-based methods to help news organizations make their digital news more engaging and informative.
